JPM College has its humble beginning on 1st June 2005. A new college building was constructed at Labbakkada and the college started functioning there on 30th January 2006. The foundation stone was laid by Very Rev. Fr. Joseph Kattackal, the then provincial superior and the new building was blessed by Mar Mathew Arackal, Bishop of Kanjirappilly and inaugurated by Very Rev. Fr. John Kudilil CST, the then Vicar General. The college aims at imparting value oriented, professional and quality education to the young generations, especially of the Idukki district. John Paul Memorial B.Ed. College was approved by NCTE in 2007 and JPM College of Arts & Science was approved in 2008. Both these institutions are affiliated to Mahatma Gandhi University, Kottayam. The new building of JPM College of Arts & Science was blessed by Mar Mathew Arackal, Bishop of Kanjirappilly in the presence of Bishop th Dominic Kokkatt CST on 7 March 2014. It became an ISO certified institution in the year 2015.
